Vehicle Assembly Technician

You’ll be our :  Vehicle Assembly Technician (UR3245)

You’ll be based at : IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru

You’ll be aligned with : Prototype Design and Building

You’ll be joining our : Product_Industrial Design team

What you’ll do at Ather :

• Assemble prototype vehicles based on design and engineering specifications, including chassis, body panels, suspension, drivetrain, wiring harness, and EV components.

• Collaborate with the design, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to interpret CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.

• Integrate custom-designed parts and components (3D printed, machined, or handmade) into functional prototype vehicles.

• Conduct basic functional testing of assembled vehicles (fit & finish, motor operation, brake feel, electrical connectivity, etc.).

• Assist in preparing vehicles for internal design reviews, leadership demos, and test rides.

• Maintain a clean and organized prototype workshop, ensuring proper tool use, safety protocols, and inventory management.

• Provide feedback to design and engineering teams on assembly issues, tolerances, or improvement opportunities.

• Support minor rework, modifications, and adjustments as required during design iterations.

• Help document assembly procedures, part fitment issues, and prototype build learnings for future reference.

Here’s what we’re looking for :

• Hands on experience in assembling and disassembling vehicle.

• Hands-on experience in functional testing of rideable proto mules.

• Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or Creo (viewing & referencing models).

• Experience in using tools and equipment at an R&D lab for in-house builds and testing.

• Aptitude is vehicle quick fixes.

• Understanding mechanical and electrical circuit for quick troubleshooting.

What you bring to Ather :

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.

• 2–5 years of experience in vehicle assembly, preferably with EVs or two-wheelers.
