Job description:

We are seeking a talented UI Engineer with a passion for web application development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and maintaining web applications and a history of successfully shipping static-generated websites to production. This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-visibility project with a Fortune 500 client. You will be joining a team of skilled professionals driving innovative and impactful solutions.

What youll be doing:

• Design and develop high-quality static site-generated websites.
• Proactively update tickets with status; flag blockers immediately (coding is only half the job).
• Manage code reviews, resolve merge conflicts efficiently, and navigate the release system.
• Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect code.
• Write high-quality, compliant HTML/CSS/JS code for routine updates and localized pages.
• Work closely with product managers and designers to translate requirements into new features.
• Focus on accessibility optimization and website performance to guarantee a smooth user experience.
• Develop and troubleshoot features that work with cross-browser compatibility for different breakpoints without losing user experience consistency.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues throughout the entire stack.
• Applies common design patterns and best practices, contributes to coding standards, participates in code reviews, and ensures engineering best practices across multiple projects.
• Quickly learns new technologies, stays updated with the latest advancements and industry trends.
• Communicates with other disciplines, teammates, and stakeholders to resolve issues, clearly presenting solutions.
• Ensures that code is tested properly by self and others, and troubleshoots and resolves technical issues to ensure the reliability of the features implemented and the infrastructure.

What we would like to see:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with website development. Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and HTML/CSS
• Solid understanding of static sites generation application architecture, workflows, and design patterns.
• Previous experience with design systems and reusable components.
• Proficiency with version control systems and resolving complex merge conflicts.
• Proficiency with deployment pipeline systems for preproduction and production environments
• Experience with web accessibility implementation, performance optimization, and localization
• Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control systems and agile methodologies.
• Leverage modern development tools, including AI-powered coding assistants, to enhance productivity and drive innovation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the capability to work well in a team environment.
• Strong appreciation for design and user experience, and its importance to the final delivered solution.
• Experience collaborating with Figma or similar design tools. Figma variables and tokens are a must.
• Understanding of common web security vulnerabilities and a proactive commitment to following data privacy best practices to ensure user information is handled securely and ethically.
• Previous experience with granular Google Analytics implementation.

• Experience working with client-specific release pipeline: Critique, Gerrit, Conductor.
• Management of User stories, features, and bug tracking with Buganizer & Taskflow.
• Proficiency with client-specific build stack: Grow / Bracket, Static storage files, G6, Kintaro.
• Previous experience with Jinja template-based site generator and Python.
