TRAINEE CASHIER

Job description for Trainee

The Trainee will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while processing cash and credit card transactions in a casino environment. The successful candidate will learn and develop skills in handling large amounts of cash, counting procedures, and fraud prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Provide excellent customer service to casino guests, greeting them with a warm and friendly welcome.

·        Process cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures.

·        Count and verify cash at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for.

·        Monitor and identify counterfeit bills and fraudulent activity, reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor.

·        Adhere to all casino policies and procedures, including those related to responsible gaming and anti-money laundering regulations.

·        Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the cashier's cage area.

·        Learn and develop skills in operating casino management software, handling large sums of money, and performing accounting procedures.

·        Attend training and development sessions as required, to develop skills and knowledge required for the role.

·        Collaborate with other departments, including security and surveillance, to ensure the safety and security of guests and employees.

·        Perform other duties as assigned by the Cashier Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements:

·        High School Diploma or equivalent.

·        Experience in cash handling and customer service, preferably in a casino or hospitality setting.

·        Good mathematical skills, with the ability to accurately count and process large sums of money.

·        Good attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

·        Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating effectively with other departments.

·        Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and casino management software.

·        Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

·        Must be fluent in English, and any additional language is an advantage.

·        Must be able to stand for extended periods

The Trainee Cashier may be required to perform other duties as necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
