Role Overview

We are seeking a " Trading Infrastructure & Operations Engineer " to design, build, and optimise high-performance trading strategies and systems. You will work closely with traders, researchers, and engineers to deploy data-driven strategies into live, low-latency environments.

What This Role Usually Covers

• Set up trading offices (racks, servers, power, cabling)
• Manage leased lines / cross-connects / exchange connectivity
• Handle network design (low latency, redundancy, failover)
• Coordinate with exchanges, ISPs, and data centres
• Own trading operations (uptime, monitoring, incident response)
• Support traders and trading systems during market hours
• Optimise latency, reliability, and resiliency

Required Qualifications

• Experience in trading infrastructure, financial systems, or low-latency environments
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, UDP, routing, switching)
• Hands-on experience with leased lines, cross-connects, and exchange connectivity
• Familiarity with Linux systems , servers, and data centre operations
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure in live trading environments

Key Responsibilities

Trading Office & Infrastructure Setup

• Set up new trading offices, including servers, racks, cabling, power, and physical access
• Coordinate with data centres, colocation providers, and vendors
• Manage hardware deployment, upgrades, and lifecycle management

Network, Leased Lines & Connectivity

• Design, implement, and maintain leased lines, MPLS, cross-connects, and exchange connectivity
• Work directly with exchanges, ISPs, telcos, and network providers
• Monitor and optimise latency, bandwidth, and redundancy
• Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues in real time

Trading Operations & Support

• Own day-to-day trading operations and production system uptime
• Provide on-call support during market hours
• Monitor trading systems, connectivity, and alerts
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortems

Systems & Reliability

• Ensure high availability, failover, and disaster recovery for trading systems
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for infrastructure and networks
• Support trading platforms, market data feeds, and order routing systems

Collaboration

• Work closely with traders, quant developers, and software engineers
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for infrastructure and operations
• Support expansion into new markets and exchanges
