Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Bengaluru for a AI-enabled Technical Project Manager who uses intelligent tools not just for productivity, but for better decision-making and predictive delivery governance

The Technical Project Manager will oversee end-to-end project execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives. This role requires someone who can translate strategic goals into technical roadmaps, manage API integrations, drive resource planning and budgeting, and ensure seamless delivery across multiple work streams.

The ideal candidate combines strong execution fundamentals with the ability to use AI for predictive planning, risk simulation, and workflow automation. This role requires moving beyond traditional status reporting into AI-augmented decision enablement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Project Delivery with High Predictability

• Own end-to-end delivery of MVNE platform features including billing systems, subscriber management, network integration, and customer portals
• Establish and maintain 95%+ on-time delivery through detailed planning, risk mitigation, and proactive issue resolution
• Manage technical projects involving APIs, microservices, and third-party system integrations
• Coordinate releases across development, QA, DevOps, and production environments with zero critical production incidents
• Drive technical design discussions and ensure alignment between architecture and business requirements

2. Resource Management & Budgeting

• Plan and allocate resources across multiple projects and workstreams (8-12+ team members in Bangalore)
• Create and manage project budgets including development costs, AWS infrastructure spend, third-party licensing, and vendor costs
• Track actuals vs. forecast on monthly basis and provide variance analysis
• Optimize resource utilization to maintain 80%+ billable efficiency across the team
• Forecast resource needs for upcoming quarters and support hiring/staffing decisions
• Coordinate with Finance team on budget reviews, PO management, and vendor payments
• Apply AI-driven insights to identify potential delays or cost overruns

3. Quality Management & Delivery Excellence

• Establish and enforce quality gates at each phase of SDLC
• Drive defect leakage reduction to less than 5% through robust testing and review processes
• Monitor key quality metrics: code coverage (>80%), automated test coverage, defect density, mean time to resolution
• Ensure comprehensive testing strategies including unit, integration, system, regression, and UAT
• Implement and track Definition of Done (DoD) across all user stories and epics
• Conduct post-release reviews and incorporate lessons learned into process improvements
• Maintain customer satisfaction scores above 90% through quality delivery

4. Cross-Functional Team Leadership

• Lead engineering teams (12+ members) based in Bangalore office
• Work closely with backend developers, frontend engineers, DevOps, QA, database teams, and solution architects
• Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and technical reviews
• Resolve blockers and dependencies across multiple technical workstreams
• Build predictable team velocity and maintain sprint commitment reliability
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Bangalore development center

5. Stakeholder & Client Management

• Serve as the technical point of contact for enterprise clients based in US and internal stakeholders
• Coordinate across time zones to ensure effective communication with international stakeholders
• Translate client business needs into technical requirements and delivery plans
• Provide regular project updates including risks, technical dependencies, budget status, and mitigation strategies
• Manage expectations around technical feasibility, timelines, resource constraints, and quality commitments
• Conduct monthly business reviews with financial and delivery metrics
• Use AI-assisted summarization for effective executive communication
• Convert complex project data into clear decision-ready insights

6. Delivery, Tools and AI-Enabled Project Execution

• Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Jira, and Microsoft Project (or equivalent) to:

Generate structured project documentation

Identify risk patterns and early warning signals

Forecast schedule slippages

Simulate resource impact scenario

Automate recurring reporting and dashboard generation

Reduce manual PM overhead through intelligent workflows

• Run Agile ceremonies using Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or Smartsheet
• Maintain product backlogs, sprint boards, burndown charts, and release plans
• Track technical debt, defect trends, and quality metrics
• Ensure proper documentation of technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and API contracts
• Monitor and improve team velocity, cycle time, and throughput metrics

Required QualificationsEducation

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• PMP certification (mandatory)
• Master's degree (preferred)

Experience

• 6-8 years of technical project management experience
• 2+ years managing software development projects in telecom, SaaS, or cloud platforms
• Proven track record delivering complex technical projects with 95%+ on-time delivery rate
• Experience managing project budgets of $500K+ and resource pools of 10+ members
• Demonstrated success in maintaining high quality standards with low defect escape rates

Location Requirements

• Must be based in Bangalore or willing to relocate
• Ability to coordinate across time zone with US stakeholders (late meetings)

Technical Skills

• Project Management Tools: Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet
• Methodologies: Agile/Scrum, Kanban, SAFe
• Technical Understanding: RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud services, databases (SQL/NoSQL), CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud Awareness: Basic understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS) and cloud cost management
• Documentation: Technical specifications, architecture diagrams, API documentation, release notes
• Budgeting & Forecasting: MS Excel, financial modeling, variance analysis, cost optimization
