Sr. Kafka Administrator

Job description-

We are hiring an experienced Kafka Admin / Engineer for a large-scale enterprise Payment Aggregator project, supporting mission-critical, high-volume transaction systems.

This role offers hands-on exposure to production-grade Apache Kafka environments running on OpenShift/Kubernetes, with ownership of DCDR operations, MirrorMaker 2, and platform stability.

Role: Sr Kafka Admin/Engineer

Location: CBD, Belapur (Navi Mumbai)

Mode: Work from office

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc-IT / BCA / M.E / M.Tech / MCA / M.Sc-IT

Required: Immediate joiners to 15 days preferred

Experience:

5 to 8 years experience in Kafka .

Key Responsibilities

. Operate and administer Kafka / AMQ Streams clusters.

. Own Kafka DCDR failover and failback drills.

. Configure and monitor MirrorMaker 2.

. Monitor Kafka health, consumer lag, and replication .

. Handle Kafka production incidents and RCA.

. Coordinate with App, DevOps, OpenShift/K8s, Network , and DB teams.

. Work with Red Hat Support when required.

Required Skills

.Hands-on experience implementing Kafka on Kubernetes(K8s) / OpenShift (AMQ Streams)

. Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka administration .

. Experience with AMQ Streams on OpenShift/K8s.

. Knowledge of consumer groups, offsets, and replication.

. Experience with MirrorMaker 2 .

. Understanding of activepassive DR for Kafka.

. Exposure to Grafana / Dynatrace monitoring.

. Experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP)/K8s operations

. Hands-on with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for build & deployment

. Support Spark jobs (deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting)

. Coordinate releases and DR activities with Kafka & application teams

. Basic monitoring using Grafana / Dynatrace

. Handle production issues and support RCA activities
