Job Summary
Matterway is an AI Assistant helping operational teams in large enterprises by automating repetitive tasks and guiding decision making. Help us reinvent how teams work by putting cutting edge generative AI and automation tools into the hands of everyday business users. You will work across multiple products in the Matterway suite a cloud platform for process optimization AI coding agents and specialized AI agents.
Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Define and improve the user experience and user interface of the Matterway products.
- Work with product managers and engineers to iterate on and refine the existing experience.
- Work through design problems from beginning to end translating research insights into ideas that form disruptive new products and features then designing the workflows and detailed interactions to realize them
- Sketch and prototype ideas to quickly access viability and design the fine grained details of interactions
- Work closely with engineers as they build and ship ideas
- Continuously improve Matterway design processes principles and tooling. Stay informed and share the latest on UI andUX techniques tools and patterns
- Partner with product managers to define and evolve product roadmaps

What makes you a great fit
Must-haves
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to help people across the company understand the rationale behind your proposals and the complex nuances of design problems
- Experience designing complex digital products and systems not just websites. You have helped ship products that solve real problems and that people use
- Ability to design polished high-fidelity UIs of your solutions using Figma. You know what great design looks and feels like and you push to get there
- Design systems knowledge understanding and practice
- An appreciation of the entire product development process from problem solving and system modeling through to detailed UI visual and interaction design
- Motivated self-starter who can deeply collaborate with other disciplines including product management engineering and customers
- A growth mindset. Willingness to own problems. Comfort with ambiguity. A desire to make things better. A balanced sense of optimism and humility
- Strong bias for action with excellent organizational and self-management skills enabling success in a remote and largely asynchronous environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Understands engineering and can build prototypes to communicate ideas - Framer Loveable Windsurf v0 Figma code etc.
- Working knowledge of HTML CSS and familiarity with JavaScript.
- Experience designing for multiple across modern enterprise surfaces desktop chat interfaces AI first experiences

- You prefer strategy research or system design over execution this is a craft-heavy role.
- You need a lot of direction or structured processes you should thrive in open-endedness and ambiguity.
- You do not obsess over details we are looking for someone who sweats the pixels.
- You primarily work on marketing sites this role is about designing deep functional software experiences.
