The Role

Own the end-to-end architecture of an on-demand pet services logistic application. Architect and develop a multi-portal platform (Customer, Service Provider, Vendor, Command Center, Admin), and manage the engineering team as the product scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Development: Design and build scalable marketplace architecture using Next.js, Node.js, and PostgreSQL
• Payments: Implement Stripe Connect with split payouts, escrow, and automated commission flows
• Real-Time & Maps: Build live dispatch, tracking, and geolocation features using WebSockets and Google Maps API
• AI Integration: Build AI-driven features (smart matching, demand prediction, dynamic pricing) and agentic AI workflows for platform automation
• AI-Augmented Development: Use Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Windsurf daily to ship faster, reduce cost, and maintain quality
• Integrations: Implement Twilio (SMS/voice/chat) and Checkr (background verification) APIs
• DevOps & Security: Set up CI/CD, AWS/GCP infrastructure, Docker, JWT/OAuth, and RBAC
• Team Building: Hire, onboard, and manage a growing engineering team define roles, run sprints, conduct code reviews, and ensure delivery

Must-Have Skills

• 6+ years in software development with hands-on experience building marketplace/multi-sided platform architectures
• Proven team management with sprint-based execution and delivery ownership
• Strong in Next.js/React, Node.js (Express/NestJS), and PostgreSQL full-stack, not just one side
• Stripe Connect or equivalent marketplace payments experience (split payouts, connected accounts, escrow)
• Real-time systems experience live tracking, dispatch, WebSockets, Google Maps API integration
• Active user of AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf) with demonstrable productivity gains
• Experience integrating AI APIs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, open-source LLMs) into production applications

Nice-to-Have

• Supabase, Twilio, Checkr API experience
• RAG pipelines, vector databases (Pinecone, pgvector), LangChain/CrewAI for AI agent orchestration
• Prior startup CTO / technical co-founder / lead architect experience
• Pet-care, healthcare, home-services, or logistics domain background
• Mobile development (React Native/Flutter), Redis, event-driven architecture, Docker/Kubernetes
