Senior Solutions Test Engineer - Cloud

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work on the solution-oriented testing against Calix Cloud products, including Operations Cloud and Marketing Cloud.
• Author test plans, develop persona-based test cases; set up solutions test bed, execute test cases, report test results, and oversee documentation.
• Augment and enhance test cases to closely reflect the customer’s deployment and operations.
• Identify and report software issues, track the progress of bug tickets.
• Reproduce onsite issues and assist development teams to diagnose the issues.
• Demonstrate new features and products to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

• This role may be required to travel and attend face-to-face meetings and Calix sponsored events.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communication Engineering, or similar.
• 5+ years’ experience in software test environment, and strong test theory knowledge.
• Experience in telecommunications OSS (Operations Support System) or network element management system.
• Experience in one or more of these domains:
  • Cloud-Native product testing, and good troubleshooting/debugging skills through Cloud API and Linux tools, such as ELK stack tools, front-end tools (fiddler, Charles...)
  • Data analysis products, BI systems, or data mining products.
  • AWS-based DevOps, test, and solution design.
     
• Test automation and script ability, familiar with Python or Golang.
• Ability to analytically break down complex problems and articulate defects with details.
• Strong verbal and written English skills.
• Self-motivated, process oriented, and detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with test instruments or tools: Spirent Testcenter/Ixia Network.
• Strong knowledge of smart home deployment and user cases.
• Cloud security test experience.
• Experience in:
  • Equipment testing in one or more of these areas: IP, Video, FE/GE Ethernet, IPv6 etc.
  • xPON (GPON/XGS/NG-PON) products testing including data plane (data services and protocols) and control plane (OMCI/CLI/NETCONF/EWI).
     
• Pre-sales experiences to some extent.
• Familiar with machine learning, AI.
• Experience in building pipelines to ingest terabytes of data spanning billions of rows.

• India – (Flexible hybrid work model - work from Bangalore office for 20 days in a quarter)
