Position Overview

The Staff Software Engineer will lead the end-to-end development of GenAI-powered applications for the Operations IT team, driving innovation and efficiency across a complex, multi-platform environment. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, embedding GenAI capabilities including prompt engineering and Agentic AI into enterprise systems to deliver intelligent, scalable solutions that optimize operations and accelerate business outcomes. As a key technical leader, you will define architecture vision, set engineering standards, and mentor teams while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to design well-architected, future-ready systems. This position aligns with the broader Technology organizations commitment to agile practices, automation, and continuous improvement, ensuring speed, quality, and reliability in software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership by defining architecture vision and ensuring system integrity while embedding GenAI and Agentic AI capabilities into solution design.
• Set engineering standards, lead design reviews, and champion best practices for integrating GenAI tools and frameworks.
• Design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade applications, including front-end, back-end, and API services.
• Build POCs and prototypes to validate ideas and accelerate delivery.
• Drive adoption of GenAI tools and Agentic AI frameworks to improve development workflows, enable autonomous decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Perform code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and strong test coverage.
• Mentor engineers on GenAI techniques, modern engineering practices, and agile methodologies.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous integration and delivery practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across multiple platforms.
• Ensure application security, performance optimization, and adherence to compliance standards.
• Stay current with emerging GenAI and Agentic AI technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Software Engineering: 6-9 years of experience in application development.

Programming Languages:

• Expert in any programming language (Java , .NET or Python)
• Front-End Development: Angular or React
• Back-End Development: Any Java or Python based frameworks
• API Development & Integration: RESTful APIs through Spring Boot or any Python frameworks

Database Technologies:

• SQL or NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Cloud Databases (AWS RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, BigQuery)
• GenAI Tools: GitHub Copilot, Vertex AI
• Cloud Platforms: AWS or GCP
• Leadership: Proven ability to mentor and guide technical teams, influence architecture decisions, and enforce engineering standards.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to GenAI prompt engineering and automation workflows.
• Agentic AI development through GCP or any Agentic AI frameworks.
• Any Cloud certifications (AWS or GCP).
• Prior experience in enterprise-scale IT operations or insurance domain.
