Required Qualifications:

Core Skills-

• 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / Test Engineering
• Strong experience in both automation and manual testing
• Handson expertise with Cucumber / BDD (Gherkin)
• Experience validating eventdriven and Kafkabased systems
• Deep understanding of E2E testing in highly integrated ecosystems

Technical & Domain Experience-

• Testing pricing, retail, merchandising, or supplychain systems
• Experience with:
• API testing (REST / SOAP)
• Message queues / streaming platforms (Kafka)
• Cloudbased platforms
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and audit comparisons
• Experience testing realtime, highvolume transactional systems

Process & Collaboration-

• Experience supporting UAT with business stakeholders
• Strong defect management and rootcause analysis skills
• Ability to work in fastpaced, multimarket rollout programs
• Excellent documentation and communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Walmart systems (SMART, Price Engine, SWORD, PriceRT)
• Experience with international pricing, taxinclusive pricing, or multicurrency systems
• Experience supporting store pilots and Hypercare
• Familiarity with DSL (Digital Shelf Labels) workflows

Job Description:

The Senior Quality Engineer will play a critical role in the Price Engine initiative, a multiphase transformation program modernizing how Walmart International executes realtime price changes across stores and digital channels.

This role sits at the center of automation, manual validation, audit parity testing, and pilot rollout support, ensuring correctness, performance, and operational readiness as legacy SMART pricing is replaced with the cloudbased Price Engine platform.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to validate complex pricing rules, Kafkadriven integrations, downstream system propagation, and storelevel execution, using Cucumberbased BDD automation alongside deep handson manual testing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Test Strategy & BDD Automation

• Design and implement BDD test frameworks using Cucumber (Gherkin) for pricing rules, workflows, and integrations.
• Build automated test suites covering:
• Home Office price
• Event pricing
• SIPC eligibility
• Validation rules
• PI & Finance Count
• WAS (Weighted Average Selling) price logic
• Markup / Markdown rules
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous validation across environments.

2. EndtoEnd & Integration Testing

• Execute E2E functional testing across integrated systems including:
• IQS
• PriceX / NGP
• EI
• SWORD
• PriceRT
• Store Finance
• Conflux / FlexPOS (market dependent)
• Ecommerce (IRO)
• Validate Kafka publisher/consumer flows, SMART backfeed integrations, and realtime price propagation to downstream systems.
• Perform manual exploratory testing for complex scenarios not fully covered by automation.

3. UAT & Business Validation

• Partner with Walmart business teams to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate:
• Pricing rule outcomes
• DSL label work orders
• Count work orders flowing through SWORD
• Store POS pricing accuracy
• Inventory and finance alignment
• Document defects with clear reproduction steps, data evidence, and rule context.

4. Audit Parity Testing (SMART vs. Price Engine)

• Support parallel run audit testing where SMART and Price Engine outputs are compared for parity.
• Validate audit pipelines (SMART Kafka Price Engine Audit).
• Analyze mismatches including:
• Missing or incorrect attributes
• Rule execution failures
• Tax and international pricing differences
• Downstream system impacts
• Contribute to daily audit reports and support rule refinements until passrate thresholds are achieved.

5. Pilot, Hypercare & Rollout Support

• Support pilot store rollouts (Canada and International markets).
• Validate:
• Realtime price updates
• DSL label generation
• POS pricing accuracy
• Storelevel configuration readiness
• Participate in Hypercare windows, triaging production defects, data issues, and performance concerns.
• Support scaled Express store rollouts, including throughput, resiliency, and sustained realtime pricing validation.
