Senior Product Design Engineer

About the Role

Were looking for a seasoned hybrid builder who thinks like a designer and executes like a hardware product manager. Youll own products end-to-end: from insights and early sketches prototyping, tooling, testing certifications, manufacturing launch.

This role requires someone who obsesses over aesthetics, engineering, quality, timelines, consumers, and costs all at once.

• Lead product design from concept sketches to CAD, CMF, prototyping, EVT/DVT/PVT, and golden sample approvals.

• Develop and own the CMF strategy: materials, finishes, textures, coatings, durability validation.
• 
  
• Collaborate with tooling vendors, ODM/OEM factories, and manufacturing partners to ensure feasibility, DFM, DFA, and smooth transition from proto mass production.
• 
  
• Conduct competitor teardowns, benchmarking, and usability studies to identify gaps and opportunities.
• 
  
• Run consumer interviews, prototype testing, and incorporate insights into rapid iterations.
• 
  
• Write PRDs and collaborate with design, engineering, and supply chain teams to translate insights into execution.

• Analyze pricing models and competitive landscapes to support product positioning and recommendations.
• 
  
• Work with the supply chain on BOM finalization, vendor qualification, SKD/CKD strategy, cost negotiation, and NPI sequencing.
• 
  
• Define product roadmaps, business cases, feature prioritization, and pricing strategies.
• 
  
• Coordinate cross-functionally with design, engineering, operations, QC, marketing, and leadership teams.
• 
  
• Oversee packaging briefs, accessory planning, instruction manuals, and unboxing experience.

• Strong portfolio of shipped physical products from concept production.
• 
  
• Deep understanding of plastics, metals, coatings, tooling, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA.
• 
  
• Strong understanding of hardware reliability, thermal management, safety standards, and compliance.
• 
  
• Experience working directly with factories (ODM/OEM).
• 
  
• Excellent analytical skills for pricing, BOM analysis, and market benchmarking.
• 
  
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
