Job Description
Unlock Packaging Innovation for Enterprise Brands. Project Manager at Corugami.
About Corugami:
We are the agency that builds. Sitting at the intersection of a design studio, consultancy, and manufacturing partner, we help fast-growing and enterprise brands move from the basic increments typical of traditional packaging departments to a design-led innovation approach. This shift enables them to develop category-defining packaging that doesn't just contain the product, but actively grows the brand.
The Role:
We are looking for a highly technical and commercially savvy Project Manager based in Mumbai to own 2-3 of our key enterprise accounts. You are not just a timeline keeper; you are an innovation unlocking machine. You will be the strategic anchor at the client site, responsible for managing the onsite team, initiating high-impact projects, and driving packaging development from the first brief to the final factory run.
What Youll Do:
- Unlock Innovation & Value Engineering: Proactively audit client portfolios to find opportunities for structural improvements, sustainability upgrades, and cost-optimization (Value Engineering) without compromising brand equity.
- End-to-End Project Ownership: Manage the complete lifecycle of all projects initiated at client sites. You will set the goals, define timelines, build the Bill of Materials (BOM), and hold cross-functional teams accountable for delivery.
- Lead the Onsite Team: Manage, mentor, and direct the daily workflows of the onsite packaging engineers/associates embedded at the client's office. Ensure they are hitting their technical milestones.
- Pitch & Present: Build compelling commercial business cases for new packaging initiatives. You will create and deliver high-stakes presentations to business owners, brand heads, and procurement leaders to get projects greenlit.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all packaging is compliant as per the standards and you understand food packaging regulatory compliance requirements (FSSAI), barrier property requirements (OTR/WVTR), and transit testing (ISTA) protocols to guarantee shelf-life and safety.
Who You Are:
- You have 5+ years of core experience in Packaging Development, with a strong, proven background working specifically with Food & Beverage companies (FMCG).
- You hold a degree/diploma from IIP (Indian Institute of Packaging) or an equivalent specialized technical institute.
- You have deep, hands-on technical knowledge across a wide variety of packaging materials (flexible laminates, thermoforming, food-grade barriers, corrugated, rigid board, injection molding).
- You know how to calculate landed costs, tooling amortization, and ROI. You speak the language of Procurement just as well as Marketing.
- You have the maturity to handle complex stakeholder dynamics. You know how to get a project approved when the stakeholders have different priorities
- You possess the executive presence to present a strategic vision to the C-suite, combined with the grit to roll up your sleeves and troubleshoot a die-cutting or sealing issue on a factory floor.
To Apply:
Ready to build the physical world of tomorrow's best brands? Along with your application on LinkedIn, send your CV and a quick vision (a short write-up or a 2-slide deck) identifying one major packaging inefficiency you frequently see in the food industry, how you would pitch solving it to a brand owner, and the estimated business impact (e.g., % cost savings, sustainability metric, or shelf-life extension). Send it to: udit(at)corugami.com . Applications without the email will not be shortlisted.
