Senior Network Engineer

Location: Bangalore, India

Long-Term contract

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and support complex enterprise network environments. The role requires strong hands-on expertise with Cisco routing, switching, wireless, firewall technologies, and network automation platforms, along with the ability to lead troubleshooting efforts and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure using Cisco technologies.

Provide advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center environments.

Configure and support Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms.

Deploy, manage, and support Cisco wireless solutions, including controllers and access points.

Implement and manage Cisco DNA Center for network automation, provisioning, monitoring, and assurance.

Manage and support Palo Alto (PAN) firewalls and Cisco Firepower firewalls.

Ensure optimal network performance, scalability, resilience, and capacity planning.

Implement network security best practices, including segmentation, access control, and secure connectivity.

Support VPN technologies (site-to-site and remote access) across enterprise environments.

Participate in network architecture planning, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.

Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.

Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, systems, and application teams to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.

Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers.

Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for critical network outages.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve network performance, security, and scalability.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise networks.

Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco networking technologies, including:

Cisco Catalyst switching

Cisco Nexus data center switching

WAN routers

Experience with enterprise firewall platforms:

Palo Alto (PAN) firewalls

Cisco Firepower

Experience managing Cisco wireless environments.

Hands-on experience with Cisco DNA Center.

Deep understanding of:

Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP

VLANs, STP, and Layer 2/Layer 3 design

High availability technologies: HSRP, VRRP, vPC

Network segmentation and security best practices

Experience with VPN solutions (site-to-site and remote access).

Strong network troubleshooting and analysis skills.

Experience using network monitoring and management tools.

Ability to work in complex, high-availability enterprise environments.

Active Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Nexus Dashboard or SD-WAN solutions.

Exposure to network automation using Python, Ansible, or APIs.

Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Experience integrating network infrastructure with security and identity platforms.
