Key Responsibilities

Analyse and understand data structures in source and target systems.
Design and develop ETL workflows using the Pentaho tool.
Develop robust transformation logic to ensure accurate and efficient data mapping.
Handle large-scale data migration from legacy databases, flat files, or cloud sources to modern data platforms.
Implement data quality checks, error handling, and reconciliation mechanisms.
Collaborate with data architects, DBAs, and business stakeholders to ensure data migration requirements are met.
Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Monitor ETL jobs and proactively troubleshoot issues.
Document data migration plans, technical specifications, and test cases.
Develop reports based on client requirements.

Mandatory Skills

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.
3+ years of experience in ETL development and data migration projects.
Strong expertise in SQL, including query writing and optimization.
Hands-on experience working with RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools, preferably Pentaho.
Experience working with Kafka.
Experience with Linux environments.
Strong experience in data profiling, cleansing, and transformation.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills

Experience with Java and/or Python.
Familiarity with Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.
Experience migrating data across systems with different data models and formats.
Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
Experience working on data archival, purging strategies, and incremental data loads.
