Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant Construction & Arbitration (Quantum) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cost Analysis, Quantity Surveying, Extension of Time (EOT), Billing, Budgeting, Forensic Delay Analysis, and Cost Estimation within the construction and arbitration domain. This role requires expertise in handling complex quantum disputes, advising on claims strategy, and managing financial and contractual risks effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage cost analysis, quantity surveying, and financial assessments for construction claims and disputes.
  • Oversee the preparation and assessment of quantum-related claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Provide expert advice on cost estimation, budgeting, and commercial risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct forensic delay analysis to support claims and arbitration cases.
  • Analyze project costs, variations, and financial impacts related to construction disputes and claims.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, project managers, and clients to develop claim strategies and support adjudication and arbitration proceedings.
  • Develop contract strategies, draft contractual correspondence, and ensure adherence to financial and regulatory frameworks.
  • Represent the company in negotiations, mediations, and arbitration hearings when required.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, legal precedents, and regulatory changes affecting construction cost disputes.
  • Key Requirements:

    • Educational Qualification: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or a related field. Additional qualifications in Arbitration, Contract Law, or Forensic Delay Analysis are preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum 6-8 years of extensive experience in cost analysis, construction claims, arbitration, dispute resolution, and contract management, preferably within large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
    • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Quantity Surveying, Cost Estimation, EOT, Budgeting, Billing, Forensic Delay Analysis, and Planning & Scheduling Tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
    • Legal Knowledge: Understanding of FIDIC, NEC, JCT, and other standard construction contracts. Experience in handling arbitration and adjudication cases is an advantage.
    • Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
