Senior Automation QA Engineer

Automation Framework & Test Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and efficient automation frameworks (UI, API, Mobile).
• Implement automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, RestAssured, Postman API tests, etc.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data for automation.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

Quality Engineering & Strategy

• Define and drive automation strategy and best practices across the QA organization.
• Identify gaps in existing automation coverage and introduce new testing approaches.
• Advocate for a shiftleft testing culture and improve test processes.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with developers, product owners, DevOps engineers, and QA teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and support their technical growth.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and qualityfocused initiatives.

Functional, Regression & Performance Testing

• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing as needed.
• Execute and analyze performance/load tests using JMeter, Locust, or similar tools.
• Investigate defects, analyze root causes, and collaborate with engineering teams for quick resolution.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed test documentation, automation reports, and execution dashboards.
• Communicate test results, quality metrics, and risks to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 610+ years of experience in QA, with at least 4+ years in test automation.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Handson experience with:
• UI automation: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress
• API automation: RestAssured, Postman, Karate
• Mobile automation: Appium (if applicable)
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub/GitLab
• Version control: Git
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, BDD/TDD, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience leading a QA automation team.
• Exposure to containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, or microservices testing.
• Experience with performance testing, security testing, or AIdriven testing tools.
• Knowledge of test management tools (JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail).
