SAP Project Manager

Job Title: Senior SAP Program Manager / SAP Project Manager (Delivery + Pre-Sales)

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned SAP Project/Program Manager who combines strong delivery leadership with pre-sales capability and techno-functional depth. This role requires someone who can lead complex SAP initiatives end-to-end from solution shaping and proposal development through execution, governance, and successful delivery. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, capable of engaging senior stakeholders while driving teams across functional and technical streams.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership

• Lead end-to-end SAP programs/projects including planning, execution, governance, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Manage complex Change Requests (CRs), scope negotiations, commercial discussions, and delivery prioritization.
• Drive delivery excellence, cost optimization, quality adherence, and client satisfaction.
• Establish strong governance frameworks, reporting structures, and escalation management.

Pre-Sales & Solutioning

• Support pre-sales activities including solution shaping, estimations, and proposal creation.
• Collaborate with sales and solution teams to craft winning SAP transformation strategies.
• Participate in client workshops, discovery discussions, and executive presentations.
• Contribute to RFP responses, commercial models, and value articulation.

Techno-Functional Expertise

• Possess strong techno-functional knowledge in at least one SAP module (e.g., S/4HANA Finance, MM, SD, EWM, PP, or similar).
• Bridge functional and technical teams to ensure scalable and practical solutions.
• Provide architectural and delivery guidance during complex implementations or rollouts.

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead cross-functional teams including functional consultants, technical developers, and offshore/onshore delivery units.
• Engage with client leadership, business users, and IT stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Mentor team members and build a strong delivery culture focused on accountability and collaboration.

Communication & Governance

• Create executive-level presentations, proposals, and status reports.
• Drive clear and structured communication during project lifecycle, especially during risks or escalations.
• Ensure alignment between business objectives, solution design, and delivery outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1520 years of overall IT experience with strong SAP delivery background.
• Proven experience managing large SAP implementations, rollouts, or transformation programs.
• Demonstrated pre-sales involvement including proposal writing, estimations, and client presentations.
• Strong techno-functional understanding of at least one SAP module.
• Experience managing complex Change Requests, commercial discussions, and scope control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence.
• Experience managing distributed teams and working in global delivery models.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with S/4HANA transformation programs.
• Good working understanding of manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
• PMP, Prince2, SAP Activate, or equivalent certification is desirable.
• Prior experience working with North American or global clients preferred.
