Job Description

  •  Conducting an in-depth analysis of geopolitical factors and their potential impact on the organization's operations, investments, and reputation. This includes assessing political stability, regulatory environments, trade policies, international relations, and regional conflicts.
  • Monitoring and analyzing global events, political developments, and emerging trends to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities that may affect the organization. This involves tracking news, government reports, intelligence sources and specialized databases to stay informed about geopolitical risks.
     
  • Collecting and analyzing information from diverse sources, including open-source intelligence, proprietary databases, confidential informants, and government reports. Includes conducting primary and secondary research to gather relevant data and intelligence on geopolitical risks.
     
  • Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies tailored to address geopolitical threats and vulnerabilities. This may involve advising on diversification of operations, strategic alliances, security measures and contingency plans to minimize the organization's exposure to geopolitical risks.
  • Due diligence investigations on potential business partners, suppliers, clients, and other relevant entities to assess their reputation, credibility, and exposure to geopolitical risks. This helps in identifying potential risks associated with engaging with specific individuals or organizations.
  • Assisting in the development of crisis management plans and procedures to effectively respond to geopolitical crises or unexpected events. This includes coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, providing timely intelligence updates and supporting decision making during crises
  • Compiling and presenting risk assessments, intelligence reports and recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders. This includes translating complex geopolitical information into actionable insights and providing timely updates on evolving risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Staying up to date with relevant laws and regulations and international frameworks related to geopolitical risks. Ensuring the organization’s compliance with these requirements and providing guidance on risk-related regulatory issues.
  • Keep abreast of geopolitical trends, security threats and evolving risk landscapes through continuous research, participating in professional networks and engaging in ongoing learning. This helps to enhance expertise and ensure the organization stays ahead of emerging risks.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Maths, or Statistics
  • Knowledge of Database languages such as SQL, R, or Python
  • Knowledge of Data visualization software such as Tableau or Qlik
