iconography, ritual science, philosophy, temple traditions, and sacred symbolism.
The Opportunity
Role: Research Project Manager
Location: Lower Parel, Mumbai (On Site)
Full time, on site role
The Research Project Manager will serve as the intellectual and strategic anchor of the research vertical. This is a foundational leadership role responsible for:
Defining research strategy and priorities
Building and governing the research framework
Ensuring scholarly accuracy and cultural authenticity
Translating deep research into relevant, contemporary narratives
The Research Project Manager will lead the research function end-to-end, including strategy, team
building, quality control, institutional partnerships, and final outputs while overseeing a team of scholars and researchers. They must also be capable of directly conducting high-complexity research on specific deities, scriptures, or symbolic systems as required.
Core Responsibilities
1. Research Strategy & Knowledge Architecture
- Design and implement a long-term research roadmap.
- Build a citation-based digital knowledge system covering major deities and traditions, Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Itihasas, temple architecture, ritual systems, symbolism, yantras, mantras, and sacred geometry.
- Establish internal research standards and documentation protocols.
- Ensure structured organization and monitoring of collected data.
2. Deity & Tradition Research
For each research project, deliver:
Comprehensive research dossiers with scriptural references and interpretation.
Cross-textual analysis documents.
Iconographic and symbolic mapping.
Historical and theological evolution timelines.
Cultural relevance notes translating ancient meaning into modern understanding.
All outputs must be: fully cited, cross-verified, culturally sensitive, and presentation-ready for
leadership and creative teams.
3. Design & Content Accuracy Governance
- Ensure scriptural, symbolic, and theological accuracy across all creative outputs.
- Guide design teams on correct iconography, proportions, symbolism, gestures (mudras), and ritual representations.
- Design & Review storytelling narratives, jewelry designs, scripts, product descriptions, and visual interpretations for alignment with research.
- Provide source-backed clarifications and documented justifications for product design decisions.
- Translate complex research into accessible briefs for content and design teams without dilution of meaning.
4. Scholarly Publications & Thought Leadership
Produce white papers, research monographs, and annotated commentaries.
Develop internal research decks to inform product, storytelling, and brand direction.
Represent Monndieu in academic, cultural, and spiritual forums.
Build long-term credibility as a trusted authority in sacred scholarship.
5. Research-to-Design Integration
Collaborate closely with founders and creative teams.
Ensure scriptural symbolism and iconography align with theological integrity.
Provide source-backed justifications for sacred objects, narratives, and artifacts.
Translate research into accessible, relevant content (e.g. coffee table book).
6. Team Leadership & Governance
- Hire & manage Sanskrit scholars, translators, and researchers.
- Define KPIs across research verticals.
- Establish SOPs for peer review, source triangulation, citation standards, translation validation, and cultural sensitivity audits.
- Ensure milestone-based, high-quality deliverables.
7. Network & Institutional Building
Build and maintain relationships with:
- Sanskrit universities and research institutions.
- Temple trusts and manuscript custodians.
- Ashrams, independent scholars, and pundits.
- Develop advisory councils where required and facilitate field research, archival visits, and institutional collaborations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic Credentials
- Ph.D. (preferred) or equivalent qualification in Sanskrit, Indian Philosophy, Religious
- Studies, Temple Architecture, or Comparative Theology.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret primary Sanskrit texts.
Experience
- 1015 years in academic, spiritual, or cultural institutions.
- Prior leadership experience in research or scholarly environments.
- Proven ability to bridge scholarship with practical or creative applications.
