Release Manager - AVP

Summary:

The candidate must have 10+ years of experience in IT or relevant industry. Financial technology background is a plus.  The responsibility of this position has dual roles to orchestrate the release of platform updates as well as acting as a project coordinator of complex testing schedules across multiple internal teams. The release manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of deployments in an end-to-end environment as well as ensuring testing completion and scheduling proceeds on time and in budget.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Release Management team (CICD), PMO, QAI and other team members to identify required software modules to be deployed into specific end-to-end environments

• Coordinate with Development, Product, QA, Implementation, SaaS Operations and other areas of the organization to validate deployment steps and readiness

• Manage dependencies between product teams and schedules to reduce bottlenecks and avoid conflicts in any shared testing environments

• Implement CICD pipelines for platform deployments in an automated manner

• Troubleshoot issues with CI/CD pipelines and identify areas for improvement in the process

• Implement and deploy scripts and tools to automate the CI/CD process

• Utilize tools for environment monitoring, alerting and operations of the overall platform and establish best practices for CI/CD environments

• Manage an operational end-to-end runbook for internal platform deployments as well as client specific configurations

• Ideal candidate could also contribute to CI/CD development for deploying applications in Azure/AWS using terraform and Ansible along with the use of Github, Team City, Jenkins, etc.

• Some experience with writing automation scripts in python or a similar scripting language

• Experience with Java or similar object oriented programming language is a plus

Qualifications:

Education:

B.Tech/BE/MCA in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical courses of study or Business with an MIS background. MS degree strongly preferred.

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in Managing and automating different environments including Test + Model Office + UAT + Pre Prod

• Experience with CICD tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Teamcity, Jenkins, Ansible)

• A deep understanding of CICD and a strong desire to help teams release frequently to production with a focus on creating reliable high-quality results

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally

• Exhibit ownership and coordinate with PMO, Product, Development, QAI, Release Management, Azure Operations

• Oversee the development and maintenance of automated deployment pipelines to ensure speed, scalability and efficiency

• Development skills in automation scripts and/or object oriented programming languages

• Strong end-to-end ownership and a good sense of urgency to enable proper self-prioritization

• Should be able to articulate the problem and propose solutions

Preferred requirements:

• Good communication skills

• Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies

• Ability to multi-task, meet aggressive timelines and have strong work ethics.

• Experience of working in the financial industry

• Certification on Azure or AWS

• Certification in Agile (Scrum Master or PMP or equivalent)

• Scripting and object oriented programming language skills
