The opportunity:

We are looking for an engaging and driven person to lead the R&D team with focus on Cyber Security for Grid and Power Electronics solutions, service and digital. The team consists of highly skilled technical experts in the area of cyber security. You will be part of Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service and report to the Global R&D Manager for Service & Digital. This is a visible role in a truly global and cross-functional environment, at the cutting edge of technology. 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will be responsible for line management and the development of the team and team members.  Further, as manager and resource owner, you will lead and distribute work tasks, support the team and the project managers across the business portfolio to drive the projects, implement existing and further develop efficient work processes to increase productivity as well as preparing annual budget and follow up execution.

  • You would actively contribute towards the implementation of the company policies and strategy for delivering results.

  • You will ensure prompt and regular reporting on the status of projects and take proactive action in case of any deviation from the agreed baseline, while maintaining active engagement with stakeholders.

  • In the role you will collaborate directly with other R&D / Product Lines teams located within and other Hitachi Energy R&D Centers, receiving units and engineering teams around the world.

  • In R&D, you will encourage and support the team to challenge existing technology, propose projects and processes, coordinating with the Global R&D Manager in contributing to the global plans and processes.

  • The team involvement ranges from technology scouting and assessment, technology development including working with intellectual properties, cyber security oriented process development and application, supporting product development and product maintenance across the business portfolio.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • You have relevant cyber security background combined with few years of experience of product development and team management. Higher formal education in relevant fields will be meriting.

  • 10+ years of overall Experience in cybersecurity working in substation / process / industrial automation systems / digital transformation.

  • Experience in SDLC with focus on cybersecurity risk handling, thread modeling, system hardening, vulnerability handling, testing, compliance and standards (e.g., IEC 62443).

  • Familiarity with secure-by-design and secure-by-default principles, ensuring cybersecurity requirements are incorporated from concept to commissioning in complex industrial and digital products.

  • Knowledge in various cybersecurity tools and life cycle management of products and services.

  • You have a deep sense of ownership to deliver the assigned targets and are skilled at managing different types of people and able to coach as well as motivate and inspire others.

  • You are very familiar with Project Management and Product Development practices.

  • Experience establishing governance frameworks, including development of cybersecurity policies, guidelines, and quality gates within product development and service organizations.

  • You work in a structured way, applying relevant methods, procedures, and tools. You practice using and creating documentation.

  • Proven experience working with multi-cultural, geographical distributed teams.

  • Excellent spoken and written communication abilities in English.

  • Strong leadership (direct and indirect reports) and proven change management experience.
