Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager from the food industry to oversee laboratory operations, in-process quality control, and overall quality assurance systems. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality protocols across the production facility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise quality control laboratory activities , including raw material, in-process, and finished product testing
  • Ensure in-process quality control on the production floor to maintain product consistency and safety
  • Implement and monitor food safety management systems such as HACCP, GMP, GHP, and FSMS
  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI regulations and other applicable statutory requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, quality manuals, and work instructions
  • Conduct internal audits , hygiene audits, and process audits; coordinate external audits and certifications
  • Monitor microbiological and chemical analysis as per food safety standards
  • Handle non-conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and stores for quality-related issues
  • Approve raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods based on quality parameters
  • Train and guide production and quality staff on food safety, hygiene, and quality practices
  • Maintain quality documentation, records, and reports for audits and compliance
  • Handle customer complaints , investigations, and corrective action implementation
  • Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Any other quality-related responsibility assigned by management


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors / Masters degree in Food Technology / Food Science / Microbiology / Chemistry
  • Proven experience as a Quality Manager in the food industry
  • Strong knowledge of FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 / FSMS
  • Hands-on experience in lab management and in-process quality control
  • Good documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Ability to work closely with production teams in a manufacturing environment


Preferred Candidate

  • Candidate must be from the food industry
  • Experience in food manufacturing / processing units will be highly preferred
