JOB PROFILE

Position: Project Architect

Company: Vivek Shankar Architects

Location: Bangalore, India

POSITION OBJECTIVE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management:

• Responsible for managing 2-3 architectural projects simultaneously frominceptionto completion
• Lead project planning, coordination, and delivery within timeline
• Act as primary point of contact between clients, consultants, and internal teams
• Prepare project schedules,monitorprogress, and ensuretimelycompletion of milestones

Design & Documentation:

• Appraise client briefs and translate requirements into architectural concepts
• Develop design concepts, schematic designs, and design development drawings
• Prepare comprehensive working drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Ensure all project documentation meets VSA standards and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate design reviews and incorporate feedback from Principal Architect and clients

Client & Consultant Coordination:

• Conduct client presentations and meetings at all project stages
• Proactively coordinate with structural engineers, MEP consultants, landscape architects, and other specialists
• Interpret and ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and design guidelines
• Facilitate effective communication between all project stakeholders

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and mentor a team of architects
• Delegate tasks effectively and ensure quality control across all deliverables
• Responsible for the correctness and accuracy of team's work
• Foster collaborative work environment and professional development of team members

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure design quality and documentation standards match or exceed VSA benchmarks
• Maintain VSA document standards and operating procedures across projects
• Review and approve drawings, specifications, and reports before submission

Site Coordination:

• Oversee site follow-up and ensure design implementation as per drawings
• Conduct site visits and address technical queries during construction
• Review contractor submissions and RFIs (Request for Information)
• Coordinate with project management team for site inspections and progress monitoring

Professional Development:

• Stay updated on global architectural trends and best practices
• Research case studies to bring innovative solutions to projects
• Demonstrate commitment to VSA's design principles and approach
• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions within the studio

SOFTWARE SKILLS:

Essential:

• Revit (BIM)
• AutoCAD
• Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Preferred:

• 3DS Max,Twinmotion, Lumion (Visualization)

EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

Experience:

• 5-7years of experience in a design consultancy or architectural firm
• Proventrack recordof managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience working across various project typologies (residential, commercial, institutional, etc.)
• International work experience is an advantage

Skills:

• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent client-facing and presentation abilities
• Effective team leadership and mentoring capabilities
• Strong documentation and report writing skills
• Understanding of local building regulations and approval processes
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices

• B.Arch. from a reputed institution
• Member of recognized professional institution (COA registration)
• Chartered Architect or equivalent certification
• M.Arch. or postgraduate qualification in Architecture
