Role Summary

The MIT School of Engineering & Sciences is seeking an eminent scholar and visionary leader to join as a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering. The candidate is expected to provide academic leadership, drive high-impact research in aeronautical or astronautical domains, and foster industry-academic collaborations to prepare students for the global aerospace landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Academic Leadership: Design and update the curriculum for B.Tech and M.Tech programs to align with Industry 4.0 and global aerospace trends (e.g., UAVs, Electric Propulsion, Space Tech).
• Teaching & Mentorship: Deliver high-quality lectures and mentor students for competitive exams (GATE) and international research opportunities.
• Research & Funding: Lead a research group, publish in high-impact journals, and secure extramural funding from agencies like ISRO, DRDO, DST, or AICTE.
• Consultancy: Establish MoUs and consultancy projects with aerospace giants (e.g., HAL, Airbus, Boeing, or local hubs like Bharat Forge).
• Administrative Duties: Contribute to departmental accreditation (NBA/NAAC), participate in Board of Studies (BoS) meetings, and oversee lab development (CFD, Propulsion, or Aerodynamics labs).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and experience must strictly adhere to the norms prescribed by UGC / AICTE / University (as applicable).

Preferred Specializations

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in:

• Aerodynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
• Aerospace Propulsion (Gas Turbines, Rockets, or Electric Propulsion)
• Structural Analysis and Composite Materials
• Avionics and Flight Control Systems
