What you will do:

  • Define and evolve architecture and technical direction for cybersecurity automation platforms and services.
  • Lead design of large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems, addressing scalability, latency, resilience, and failure modes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers and SREs across multiple teams.
  • Establish and influence engineering standards, patterns, and best practices across security automation and reliability domains.
  • Guide adoption of automation-first and reliability-first practices, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and observability.
  • Review and approve architecture, design, and security decisions, ensuring secure-by-design and compliance alignment.
  • Partner with product, security architecture, cloud, and SRE leaders to align technology strategy with business outcomes.
  • Influence DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, and IaC standards (GitOps, Kubernetes, serverless).
  • Drive incident learning and systemic improvements, ensuring lessons translate into architectural and platform changes.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies (including AI/ML and AIOps) and guide responsible adoption.
  • Produce clear architecture documentation, decision records, and technical guidance.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor across the cybersecurity organization.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as needed.


What you will bring:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with ownership of large-scale, distributed production systems.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Deep expertise in system architecture and distributed systems (HA, scalability, fault tolerance).
  • Strong hands-on background with backend platforms (Java/Spring, C#, Go).
  • Extensive experience with AWS and/or Azure, including Kubernetes and serverless architectures.
  • Proven expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, and platform engineering, including infrastructure-as-code.
  • Strong grounding in Site Reliability Engineering practices (SLOs, observability, incident analysis).
  • Experience guiding or reviewing security architecture, including IAM, data protection, and secure-by-design practices.
  • Ability to influence technical direction across teams without direct authority.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex trade-offs to engineers and leadership.
  • Demonstrated passion for mentorship, technical excellence, and engineering rigor.


Must have skills:

  • Principal-level expertise designing large-scale, cloud-native, distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of high availability, scalability, resilience, and failure modes.
  • Strong technical background in backend platforms (Java/Spring, C#, or Go).
  • Extensive experience with AWS and/or Azure, including Kubernetes and serverless architectures.
  • Proven leadership in DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Strong grounding in Site Reliability Engineering (SLIs, SLOs, observability, incident learning).
  • Demonstrated ability to define engineering standards and review architecture across teams.
  • Experience embedding security-by-design into software and cloud platforms.
  • Practical experience guiding AI-enabled platforms (LLMs, RAG, embeddings) in production environments.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction without authority.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex technical trade-offs to senior stakeholders.
