About the role

Job Title : Power BI Developer (Contract - 6 Months)

Shift Timing: 3:00 PM 12:00 AM IST

Location: Hybrid

Contract Duration: 6 Months (Extendable based on performance and project requirements)

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to join our analytics and reporting team for a 6-month contractual engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data visualization, DAX modeling, and data engineering concepts, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric and PySpark for large-scale data processing and integration.

Company Description

• Develop, design, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders.
• Work closely with business and data teams to gather, analyze, and interpret requirements into scalable BI solutions.
• Create and optimize data models (tabular and dimensional) for efficient performance and reusability.
• Integrate Power BI with various data sources including Microsoft Fabric (Data Lakehouse / Lakehouse / Warehouse) .
• Develop PySpark data pipelines within Fabric / Synapse / Databricks to transform and prepare data for reporting.
• Implement row-level security (RLS) , data refresh schedules , and manage Power BI service workspaces .
• Ensure best practices in data governance , version control , and deployment pipelines .
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, Analysts, Architects) to ensure seamless data delivery.
• Provide support for ad-hoc data analysis and performance tuning of reports and datasets.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and data visualization .
• Strong proficiency in DAX , Power Query (M language) , and data modeling concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric ecosystem (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Synapse Real-Time Analytics).
• Hands-on experience in PySpark for building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational database concepts .
• Familiarity with data warehousing principles, star/snowflake schema , and dimensional modeling .
• Working knowledge of Azure Data Services (e.g., Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory) is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience in DevOps for Power BI (deployment pipelines, Git integration) .
• Knowledge of Python or R for data analytics.
• Exposure to Azure Databricks , ADF pipelines , and Fabric Data Science / AI workloads .
• Power BI Premium capacity management experience.

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science , Information Technology , Engineering , or a related field.
• Microsoft Certifications in Power BI , Fabric , or Azure Data Engineering are a plus.
