Payroll Specialist (Finance)

A day in the life of this role

Meritto is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll professional to manage end-

to-end payroll operations. The role requires hands-on experience with Zoho People / Zoho

Payroll or similar payroll tools, strong statutory compliance knowledge, and the ability to

support a fast-growing, tech-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations

Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing with accuracy and adherence to timelines

Process attendance, leave, incentives, reimbursements, deductions, arrears, and F&F

settlements

Ensure accurate salary structures and payouts across employees and consultants

Support payroll closures and coordination with Finance

Payroll Systems & Tools

Manage payroll using Zoho People / Zoho Payroll or similar HRMS tools

Maintain employee payroll master data and system configurations

Coordinate with HR/IT for system improvements and issue resolution

Support payroll audits and system enhancements

Statutory Compliance

Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, Gratuity, etc.

Manage statutory filings, challans, and reconciliations

Coordinate with consultants and authorities during audits or assessments

Stay updated with changes in payroll laws and regulations

MIS & Reporting

Prepare payroll MIS reports, dashboards, and management summaries

Perform payroll and statutory reconciliations

Support month-end and year-end payroll reporting

Employee & Stakeholder Support

Act as SPOC for employee payroll queries

Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll data

Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors

What were looking for

Should have a B.Com degree with 46 years of payroll experience

MBA in Finance/HR being an added advantage..

Hands-on experience with Zoho People / Zoho Payroll or similar tools

Strong knowledge of Indian payroll and statutory compliance

Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
