Opto Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview:

Design and develop mechanical structures, mounts, and mechanisms for precision optical

telescopes. Work closely with optical and controls engineers to turn optical designs into stable,

buildable hardware. This is a hands-on role with real ownership from CAD to assembly and

testing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design opto-mechanical assemblies (mounts, trusses, mirror cells, mechanisms) using CAD

tools.

- Perform structural, thermal, and modal analyses (FEA) to ensure stability and performance under

gravity, temperature changes, and dynamics.

- Develop drawings and coordinate fabrication and assembly of prototypes.

- Plan and execute alianment procedures and support intearation and test activities.

- Collaborate with optical team on tolerances, alignment features, and error budgets.
