MEP BIM Co-Ordinator

Minimum 6 years in BIM roles, with at least 3 years as MEP BIM co-ordinator role. Prior Gulf Experience Preferred.

Location: Chennai, India. Time to time travel to UAE or Kuwait as per requirement.

Qualification: Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or related discipline

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop, coordinate, and manage MEP BIM models from LOD 300 to LOD 500 using

Autodesk Revit.

Lead the coordination of 3D BIM models for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems integrated with Architectural, Structural, and Civil models.

Coordinate HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, electrical power, lighting, ELV systems, cable trays, containment, and equipment layouts in compliance with project requirements.

Support MEP design and construction teams by delivering accurate, coordinated,

and clash-free BIM models suitable for design development, authority submissions, shop drawing preparation, and construction stages.

Generate BIM-based deliverables including load schedules, single-line diagrams (SLDs), riser diagrams, panel schedules, equipment schedules, and annotated coordinated drawings.

Develop and manage 4D BIM simulations to support construction sequencing and workflow visualization.

Ensure all BIM deliverables comply with the approved BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and international standards such as ISO 19650.

Lead and participate in clash detection and resolution processes using Navisworks Manage, coordinating with all stakeholders to resolve conflicts effectively.

Manage model collaboration, approvals, and information exchange through Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

Establish and maintain shared coordinate systems, levels, and grids to ensure accurate alignment across all discipline models.

Develop, manage, and maintain Revit families, BIM content libraries, templates, parameters, and standards to ensure modeling consistency and efficiency.

Conduct comprehensive QA/QC reviews of BIM models and extracted drawings to ensure accuracy, coordination, and compliance with project requirements.

Create and manage project-specific BIM templates, view templates, filters, and worksets.

Identify opportunities to improve BIM workflows, automation, and coordination processes.

Actively participate in coordination meetings, design workshops, and client discussions as a BIM subject matter expert.

Prepare agendas and support regular BIM and MEP coordination meetings.

Required Skills & Technical Expertise

Strong expertise in HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting system coordination and BIM modeling.

Proven experience in Electrical Power, Lighting, ELV systems, containment layouts, and MEP schematics.

Knowledge of cable tray sizing, load calculations, schedules, and coordinated layouts.

Proficient in Autodesk Revit (MEP), ACC model coordination, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and relevant Autodesk plugins.

Strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills for managing multidisciplinary BIM teams
