Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Engineer located in Bengaluru. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems. This includes day-to-day tasks such as machine design, computer-aided design (CAD) modeling, project management, and conducting research and development (R&D) activities. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical or structural design in automotive, EV, or aerospace sectors.
  • Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design skills for designing vehicle subsystems and components.
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion360, including assemblies and detailed drawings.
  • Experience in Project Management, managing design timelines, resources, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Research and Development (R&D) skills in vehicle systems, EV components, or related fields.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for design, prototyping, and performance testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of explaining design trade-offs to non-mechanical teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including electronics, battery, and fabrication teams.
  • Deep understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, including aluminum, composites, sheet metal, and plastics, with hands-on prototyping experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles for vehicle design, including GD&T, DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and mechanical reliability testing.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
