Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Lead who can spearhead the design and development of cutting-edge products, lead a high-performing team, and contribute to Havells innovation-led growth journey.

Job Location: Noida

Experience: 13 to 17 Years (with team handling)

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

• Lead mechanical design and product development as per defined timelines, performance, quality, safety, and cost targets.
• Develop 2D drawings and complex 3D models aligned with market needs, marketing insights, and industrial design teams.
• Execute DFMEA, design reviews, tolerance studies, and engineering validation for new models.
• Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize cost, durability, manufacturability, and sustainability.

Process Excellence & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to Stage-Gate NPI processes, Windchill PLM standards, and engineering SOPs.
• Manage part/tool approvals, ECN handling, BOM accuracy, and product documentation.
• Maintain compliance with relevant product safety and regulatory standards (ISO 9001 & ISO 14001).

Technology & Benchmarking

• Identify emerging technologies and innovative mechanical design practices.
• Benchmark competition products and global best practices to drive continuous improvement.
• Create micro-level development plans and ensure on-time execution.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of design engineers.
• Build skill development plans and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in CREO (Pro/E), AutoCAD, Windchill, and MS Office.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, GD&T, material properties, manufacturing processes, and tolerance stack-up.
• Experience in NPD, design changes, innovation workflows, and design for manufacturing (DFM) & design for assembly (DFA).

Education & Experience

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute.
• 13 to 17 years of experience in product design/ mechanical design of fans, appliances, automotive components, or similar high-volume consumer products (team handling experience is mandatory)
• Experience in established manufacturing companies with consistent career stability.
