Manufacturing Engineer- Box Build & Harness

What will you be doing at Ather:

• Ensure the installation, Qualification, and Maintenance of the SPMs, Fixtures at the Supplier site related to the Components, Box build assemblies & Harness in accordance with Ather standards to ensure smooth assembly processes.

• Working with vendors in communicating requirements, reviewing designs and equipment building at vendor places.

• Accountable for publishing the results of the DOEs and special builds conducted.

• Should travel to the supplier side or to Ather factory as and when required.

• Knowledge of special processes such as Gluing, Sealing, Potting.

• Proto development & tooling requirement for the wire harness assembly

• DFA & technical concern clearance for the wire harness assembly

• Prepare and share the SOR for EOL requirement in wire harness new designs

• Basic understanding of Wire Charts, electrical schematics and BOM’s and hands on experience with wiring harness processes like Wire Cutting & Stripping, Crimping,Crimp validation, Soldering,Harness assembly & Functional testers.

• Basic understanding of design & layout of wiring harness manufacturing & assembly line, Layout board design feasibility etc.

• Know-how on harness child components such as wire material selection & its extrusion process, connectors,terminals,copper strands forming, anticapillary cables, overmolding etc.

• Know-how of Crimp performance specifications of SAE/USCAR-21 standards.

• Know-how on cycle time calculations,Takt time,Identification of bottleneck process & its mitigation.

Here’s what we are looking for: 

Domain Skills:

• Working knowledge in understanding assembly instructions & CTQ requirements for Box builds.

• Sound understanding in handling child components of Box builds & basic understanding of PCBA process.

• Working knowledge of Harness assemblies and its child components.

• Working knowledge in CAD files, IP standards.

• Working knowledge of IATF 16949/ ISO 9001,MSA, SPC, Calibration practices, PPAP.

Tools:

• Auto CAD, Solid Works

• Knowledge on Capital Software (wiring harness & form board drawings design software) will be an added advantage.

What you bring to Ather:

• Dipl. / B.E or equivalent with Specialization in Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Communication/ Mechanical.

• 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in NPI activities for Module & Harness development in Automotive / Industrial/ Portable consumer electronics domain.
