Looker Architect

Key Responsibilities

1. Migration Strategy & Planning

• Assess existing BI estate (dashboards, reports, data models, usage metrics)
• Define migration roadmap and prioritization strategy
• Conduct dashboard rationalization and redundancy analysis
• Estimate migration effort and complexity

2. LookML & Semantic Modeling

• Design and implement scalable LookML models
• Build reusable explores, views, and derived tables
• Implement governed semantic layers
• Optimize query performance and caching strategies

3. Dashboard & Report Migration

• Rebuild complex dashboards in Looker
• Ensure metric parity and validation against legacy reports
• Recreate advanced visualizations and drill paths
• Conduct UAT and stakeholder walkthroughs

4. Data Platform Integration

• Integrate Looker with modern cloud warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks)
• Optimize SQL performance
• Implement row-level security and access governance
• Support CI/CD pipelines for LookML deployment

5. Stakeholder & Consulting Engagement

• Work closely with business stakeholders to redefine KPIs
• Translate business requirements into scalable models
• Provide change management support
• Conduct training sessions and adoption workshops
