Lead Data Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer with over 6 years of experience to work in a hybrid model based in Bangalore.

Overview:

The Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that meet both strategic and operational business needs. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality data pipelines, reliable reporting systems, and robust data platforms by implementing industry-standard engineering practices, Agile methodologies, and principles of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in data warehousing, BI development, data pipelines, and modern cloud data ecosystems.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Design, build, test, and deploy scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT jobs, and data models aligned with business requirements.

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain end-to-end data processes, ensuring high reliability and system uptime.

- Apply formal Agile methodologies, practices, and sprint processes to deliver data and analytics solutions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to data quality and engineering best practices.

- Translate business requirements into scalable data architecture and system designs.

- Develop efficient, well-structured, and reusable code and data engineering components.

- Ensure timely and accurate refresh of data marts, data lakes, and warehouse components.

- Support production systems, including performance tuning, debugging, and optimization.

- Design and deliver visualization, analytics, and reporting solutions using industry-standard BI tools.

- Partner with business stakeholders to define meaningful KPIs and develop dashboards that facilitate data-driven decision-making.

- Support existing reporting systems while continuously enhancing them for improved performance and usability.

Platform & Tool Management

- Manage and monitor workflows across tools such as Informatica, SQL Server, Snowflake, SSIS, and DBT.

- Work within UNIX/Linux environments for scripting, automation, and process orchestration.

- Utilize BI tools such as Hyperion, Power BI, and Looker to create scalable reporting solutions.

Qualification: Any Engineering Degree

Experience: 6+ Years
