Head of Engineering

Role Overview

The Engineering Control Head will be responsible for overseeing engineering governance, design validation, process safety, risk management, and quality assurance across projects. This role ensures technical integrity, compliance, and alignment between design engineering, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve Design Engineering (DE) and package documents.
• Ensure acceptance and validation of BE (Basic Engineering) deliverables.
• Communicate design changes, deviations, and updates to DE teams and vendors.
• Oversee local design and engineering activities in line with project requirements.
• Lead and review process safety studies and documentation.
• Conduct and validate risk analysis, including technical audits and QRA (Quantitative Risk Assessment).
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Assign engineering contracts in alignment with technical and commercial requirements.
• Review and evaluate RFQs (Request for Quotations) from a technical standpoint.
• Analyze vendor proposals for technical suitability, compliance, and risk.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical queries and ensure scope clarity.
• Oversee Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities across engineering and execution phases.
• Conduct technical audits to ensure engineering quality, safety, and adherence to standards.
• Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
• Act as a technical interface between engineering, procurement, quality, safety, and project teams.
• Provide technical guidance and decision support to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in engineering (BE mandatory).
• Proven experience (20 years) in engineering control, process safety, and technical governance.
• Strong understanding of design engineering, risk analysis, QA/QC, and vendor management.
• Experience in reviewing RFQs, technical audits, and safety assessments (QRA preferred).
