Building a Global, Software-Led Engineering Hub

We are supporting Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, part of Spirax Group plc (LSE: SPX), in establishing a new global engineering centre in Pune.

This is a software-led engineering mandate within a precision industrial product ecosystem.

This is not a conventional mechanical leadership role.

• Build and scale a globally integrated engineering hub from the ground up.
• Anchor the centre around strong software engineering capability.
• Integrate software into precision fluid, mechanical, electromechanical and instrumentation platforms.
• Establish robust engineering governance, documentation standards, configuration management, and PLM systems.
• Interface directly with UK and European engineering leadership.
• Shape long-term capability aligned to global R&D priorities.
• This is a greenfield leadership opportunity with global visibility and long-term impact.

• 15+ years of engineering experience with strong depth in software within industrial, embedded, or automation environments.
• Experience leading software-driven product development within hardware-linked ecosystems.
• Exposure to structured documentation frameworks, configuration control, and PLM environments.
• Proven success in building or scaling engineering centres or global capability hubs.
• Comfort operating within structured UK / European governance environments.
• Experience in pumps, fluid handling, medical devices, instrumentation, precision engineering, or other high-reliability industrial sectors will be advantageous.

The Pune engineering centre will play a strategic role in supporting global engineering and product development initiatives.
