Position: Head AIF & Private Equity

This is a founding leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for establishing, fundraising, investing, and managing a SEBI-registered Alternative Investment Fund (Category I / II).

The role carries complete P&L ownership, strategic decision-making authority, and accountability for delivering strong risk-adjusted returns under SEBIs AIF Regulations, 2012.

Key Responsibilities

1 Fund Formation & Regulatory Compliance

• Lead SEBI AIF registration (Category I / II)
• Design optimal fund structure (Trust / LLP / Company)
• Draft PPM, Contribution Agreements & compliance framework
• Ensure adherence to SEBI AIF Regulations, taxation norms & FEMA guidelines
• Coordinate with trustees, custodians, auditors & legal advisors

2 Fundraising & Capital Formation

• Develop domestic & offshore fundraising strategy
• Engage Institutional Investors, Family Offices, HNIs & Corporate Treasuries
• Lead investor roadshows & due diligence
• Achieve targeted corpus within defined timelines

3 Investment Strategy & Execution

• Drive deal sourcing & pipeline management
• Conduct financial, legal & commercial due diligence
• Negotiate term sheets & transaction documentation
• Present proposals to Investment Committee

4 Portfolio Management & Value Creation

• Board participation & governance oversight
• Strategic planning with portfolio companies
• Monitor KPIs & risk parameters
• Plan exits (IPO / Strategic Sale / Secondary / Buyback)

4Fund Deployment & Deal Sourcing

• Identify companies ready to deploy or raise funds.
• Meet investment bankers to understand deal pipelines and opportunities.
• Focus on active deal sourcing through market networks and industry contacts.
• Engage with family offices (around 30%), institutions, and treasury management teams for potential investments.
• Build relationships in the field market to identify and track new opportunities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• MBA / CA / CFA (preferred)
• 12+ years of experience in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Hedge Funds, or Asset Management
• Prior experience with SEBI-registered AIF strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of Indian regulatory, taxation & fund structuring frameworks
• Demonstrated fundraising track record in the Indian market
• Strong investor network across HNIs, Family Offices & Institutions
