Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Bengaluru for a Hardware Systems Design Engineer (3+ years experience) specializing in Analog and Digital domains. The engineer will be responsible for designing, testing, and managing hardware systems, including analog and digital circuit designs. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create system architectures, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The candidate will also support the development and deployment of prototypes and troubleshoot any system malfunctions.


Qualifications

  • (Mandatory) Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Electrical, or related field.
  • (Mandatory) Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • (Mandatory) Expertise in Systems Design and Systems Engineering
  • (Mandatory) Hands-on experience with PCB design, fabrication and assembly processes.
  • (Mandatory) Proficiency in Electrical Engineering and System Architecture
  • (Mandatory) Strong fundamentals in Analog and Digital Electronics.
  • (Mandatory) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • (Mandatory) Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • (Plus) Experience completing at least 23 full product development cycles is a plus.
  • (Plus) Prior experience with IoT device development and testing is an advantage


Key Responsibilities

1. Circuit Design & Development

Design analog and digital circuits including power systems (SMPS, Buck/Boost, LDO).

Signal conditioning, ADC/DAC interfaces, sensor integration.

High-speed interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS485, USB, Ethernet.

Perform component selection, tolerance analysis, and worst-case analysis.

Implement protection circuits (ESD, surge, reverse polarity, overcurrent).


2. PCB Design & Layout

Design multi-layer PCBs (2L8L+).

High-speed routing, impedance control, differential pair design.

EMI/EMC-aware layout practices.

Thermal design and power integrity considerations.

Generate Gerber, BOM, Pick & Place files for manufacturing.

Conduct DFM, DFA, and DFT reviews.


3. Prototyping & Hardware Validation

Board bring-up, debugging, and functional validation.

Oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer usage.

Signal integrity and power integrity testing.

Environmental and stress testing.

Root cause analysis of hardware failures.

Maintain validation documentation and reports.


4. Production & Compliance

Coordinate with EMS vendors for pilot and mass production.

Support certifications (CE, FCC, EMI/EMC, safety).

Address field issues and perform corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with IPC and relevant industry standards.


Preferred Skills

Experience with ESP32 / STM32

Exposure to Edge AI hardware platforms.

Automotive-grade design experience awareness

IoT connectivity modules exposure.

Experience with Altium / KiCad / OrCAD / Eagle.

Simulation tools: LTspice / PSpice.

Familiarity with IPC standards and PCB stack-up design.
