About the Role

Sturlite is seeking an experienced Group Finance Controller to lead the Groups accounting, compliance, and financial control functions.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of accounting records, integrity of statutory financial reporting, strong internal financial controls, and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Working closely with the CFO and finance leadership team, the Group Finance Controller will play a key role in building scalable accounting processes to support the companys growth across its diversified businesses including FMEG, Solar EPC projects, E-commerce, and Healthcare Distribution.

Business Coverage

The Group Finance Controller will oversee accounting and financial control operations across the following business verticals:

FMEG Business

• Lighting
• Project lighting and general trade
• Wires and cables
• Switches and electrical accessories
• Professional lighting projects

Solar EPC Projects Business

E-Commerce Business

Healthcare Distribution Business

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Close

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across the Group
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records across all entities
• Manage general ledger accounting and consolidation processes
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards

Statutory Financial Reporting

• Prepare statutory financial statements and regulatory filings
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements
• Coordinate preparation of annual financial statements

Audit Liaisoning & Regulatory Compliance

• Act as the primary liaison with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and regulatory authorities
• Lead and coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, and regulatory audits
• Ensure timely resolution of audit observations and audit queries
• Support the CFO in preparing audit committee documentation and audit-related reporting

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST and corporate tax
• Manage tax assessments and interactions with tax authorities
• Ensure timely statutory filings and tax compliance

Financial Controls & Governance

• Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls and governance frameworks
• Develop and implement finance policies, SOPs, and approval frameworks
• Strengthen financial discipline and control mechanisms across business units

Finance Operations Oversight

• Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
• Ensure smooth functioning of finance operations and accounting processes
• Drive improvements in financial close timelines and operational efficiency

Finance Systems & Process Improvement

• Drive improvements in SAP S/4HANA finance processes and reporting capabilities
• Work closely with the SAP team to optimize FICO modules and financial reporting structures
• Identify opportunities to improve automation and accounting governance

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) required
• Additional certifications in financial reporting or IFRS are an advantage

Experience

• 1215 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controllership roles
• Strong experience in financial accounting, audit management, and accounting operations
• Prior experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, EPC, or consumer electrical sectors preferred
• Experience managing statutory audits conducted by Big4 or leading audit firms is preferred
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA ERP systems is required

Skills

• Strong expertise in accounting standards and financial reporting
• Experience managing statutory audits and regulatory compliance
• Strong understanding of internal financial controls and governance frameworks
• Deep familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and FICO modules
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
