GL Accountant

Job Responsibilities

Perform account reconciliations and prepare month-end working papers and ensure timely and accurate closing of financial records. Apply judgment to ensure that financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations are intact and operating effectively.

• Maintain the general ledgers of Indian entity to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Supports Fixed Assets GL accounting (depreciation, capitalization), ensure accuracy of fixed assets register.
• Take ownership of prepaid expenses, including running amortization, ensuring accuracy of service periods.
• Support the global monthly consolidation process Intercompany reconciliation (cost Plus, funding).
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automations to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes.
• Prepare bank reconciliation statements and ensure accuracy.
• Assist with year-end audits, quarterly and annual tax filings.

Essential Skills

• Hands on experience of accounting principles and standards.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
• Outstanding knowledge of India GAAP (IGAAP). US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) knowledge is desirable.
• Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Proficiency in Oracle accounting ERP is desirable.
• Semi-qualified CA
• 3+ years of experience working as an Accountant, or a similar role.
