Finance Head (Series A Startup)

Role Overview

Our client is a fast-scaling, design-led consumer brand operating at the intersection of technology and modern living. The company has recently raised its Series A round from two of Indias leading consumer-focused funds and is now entering an accelerated phase of scale and category expansion.

We are currently supporting them on a Head of Finance mandate.

This is a high-ownership, hands-on leadership role, working closely with the founders to build and institutionalize the finance function end-to-end. The mandate spans controllership, business finance, investor reporting, cash flow management, and setting up robust systems and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Own accounting, controllership, audits, compliance, and internal financial controls.
• Manage cash flow, working capital cycles, budgeting, and cost discipline across teams.
• Lead end-to-end finance strategy including FP&A, long-term forecasting, cost structures, and profitability models.
• Build robust MIS and reporting frameworks with monthly, quarterly, and investor-ready dashboards.
• Track vendor payments, site-level expenses, and project-wise P&Ls to ensure margin visibility.
• Support fundraising initiatives across debt and equity, including financial models, datarooms, and investor interactions.
• Work closely with product and tech teams to design scalable, automated finance systems integrated with operations.
• Build and lead a high-performance finance team; collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership.

Requirements

• CA / CFA / MBA (Finance), 7+ years of relevant finance experience, preferably in high-growth product based startups
• Strong hands-on experience across controllership, cash-flow management, business finance and fundraising support.
• Ability to build systems and processes from scratch in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
