Job Title: Fiber Design Engineer US Projects

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Fiber Design Engineer with hands-on experience in US telecom fiber projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality fiber network design drawings, permit drawings, and As-Built documentation, incorporating redlines accurately and delivering designs strictly as per US telecom standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fiber Network Design & Drafting (US Fiber)

Prepare US telecom fiber deliverables including:

• HLD (High Level Design)
• FTTH / FTTx Network Layout
• Underground (UG) Fiber Route Design
• Aerial Fiber Route Design
• Fiber Permit Drawings
• Duct & Cable Routing Layout
• Handhole / Splice Locations
• Pole Attachment & Aerial Route Plans
• As-Built Drawings

Modify drawings based on client redlines and mark-ups.

Ensure all DWGs are prepared strictly as per client templates and US telecom standards.

Avoid assumptions; follow provided survey inputs and GIS data accurately.

2. Standards & Compliance

Follow client-specific US telecom standards and utility guidelines.

Maintain proper layer management, title blocks, scales, and revision controls.

Ensure compliance with permit requirements, utility regulations, and network design guidelines.

Adhere to project specifications without deviation.

3. Process & Quality Requirements

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all fiber design projects.

Accurately self-estimate project hours before commencing work.

Perform self-quality check using technical checklist before submitting to QC.

Ensure First-Time-Right deliverables with minimal QC rework.

Move completed projects to designated common folder as per workflow.

4. Communication & Coordination

Use official email for all project-related communication.

Coordinate with Project Leads, QC team, and Network Planners when required.

Support team during peak load to meet client targets.

5. Performance Expectations

Handle all types of fiber network projects:

• New FTTH network rollout
• Underground fiber deployment
• Aerial fiber deployment
• Network expansion projects
• Fiber route optimization

Demonstrate consistent performance across all project types.

Meet client timelines while maintaining quality standards.

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting).

Experience in fiber telecom projects.

Good understanding of:

• HLD (High Level Design)
• FTTH / FTTx network layouts
• Underground and aerial fiber routing
• Permit drawings

Basic knowledge of QGIS.

Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Experience Required

15 years of experience in Telecom Fiber Design / FTTH / FTTx CAD drafting.
