Fabric warehouse executive

Key Responsibilities

A. Fabric Receiving & Inspection

• Coordinate with procurement and suppliers for incoming fabric deliveries.
• Verify fabric quantity, specifications, color, and shade against purchase orders.
• Conduct physical inspection for defects, damages, shrinkage, and hand-feel.
• Ensure proper documentation like GRN (Goods Receipt Note) and gate entry.

B. Storage & Handling

• Maintain organized storage of rolls/plies based on fabric type, color, shade, and lot.
• Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and barcoding (if applicable).
• Maintain FIFO/FEFO systems to reduce aging stock.
• Monitor storage conditions to prevent moisture, contamination, or fabric damage.

C. Inventory Control

• Maintain accurate and real-time fabric stock using ERP/WMS systems.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock counts.
• Identify stock mismatches, shortages, or excess and take corrective action.
• Maintain safety stocks as per production planning requirements.

D. Fabric Issuance

• Issue fabric to cutting or sampling departments as per production plan.
• Ensure accurate roll-wise and meter-wise recording.
• Track returns, remnants, and leftover fabric and update inventory.

E. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain GRN, issue notes, stock registers, and fabric movement logs.
• Provide daily/weekly stock reports to planning, merchandising, and management.
• Maintain correct records for audits and compliance checks.

F. Coordination

• Work closely with planning, merchandising, procurement, cutting, and QA teams.
• Follow up with suppliers for pending deliveries or quality issues.
• Ensure the timely availability of fabric for production batches.

G. Warehouse Management

• Supervise warehouse staff and loading/unloading activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety, housekeeping, and 5S standards.
• Ensure smooth operations and resolve day-to-day warehouse issues.

. Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of various fabrics, GSM, blends, counts, and qualities.
• Good understanding of warehousing processes and inventory control.
• Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Tally, Zedonk, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of quality parameters and fabric inspection.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
