Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Compliance Specialist to join our global team. Based in Hyderabad, this role supports and ensures the companys adherence to ESG standards and regulatory requirements across diverse regions, including North America, Latin America, Europe, EMEA, and India. The specialist will play a critical role in driving sustainable business practices and reporting, aligning with global ESG frameworks and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant ESG regulations and standards across all operating regions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain ESG policies and procedures consistent with international frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
- Conduct ESG risk assessments and audits to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with regional and functional teams to integrate ESG criteria into business operations and decision-making.
- Prepare and submit ESG compliance reports to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with evolving global and local ESG regulations and best practices.
- Support training and awareness programs to promote ESG compliance with culture within the organization.
- Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory agencies on ESG matters.
- Assist in sustainability reporting, disclosures, and benchmarking against industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Sustainability, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in ESG compliance, sustainability, risk management, or related areas in a multinational context.
- Fluent in ESG standards and reporting framework. You are familiar with ESG and sustainability standards such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) disclosure requirements for Scope 1 &2 and Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cultures and geographies.
- Strong communication skills to engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience with ESG software tools and data platforms such as physical climate risk assessment, such as Watershed is a plus.
- Professional certifications in ESG or sustainability (e.g., CSR-P, GRI Certified) are advantageous.
