Enterprise Data Mesh Services Project Manager/Scrum Master

Your role

Are you a multi-faceted Project Manager and Scrum Master? Have you supported the successful delivery of IT/Tech platforms and projects? Can you leverage Agile to support development teams?

We’re looking for a hybrid Project Manager and Scrum Master to:

• Support the Head of Enterprise Data Mesh Services’ Program Management Office and the Program Management Office team to project manage both the ongoing delivery of UBS’s Enterprise Data Mesh, and the integration of supplementary technology with the Mesh.

• Operate as a Scrum Master by effectively facilitating Sprints/Iterations and managing their associated Scrum ceremonies including; backlog refinement/grooming sessions, iteration planning, daily stand-ups, iteration reviews and retrospectives.

• Swiftly identify and remove impediments, document and track RAIDs, manage escalations and expeditiously provide leadership with updates on any mitigatory steps required, or undertaken.

• Effectively leverage the GitLab DevOps platform to document, manage and monitor actionable project deliverables and items of work being delivered by internal and external project teams.

• Utilize a project reporting platform to undertake monthly status reporting, milestone tracking and OKR management activities.

• Undertake project administration tasks including; project plan maintenance, provision of access to project tools, raising accesses required to leverage UBS tools and platforms etc.

• Proactively organize meetings and workshops to discuss items of work and/or resolve issues; and represent leadership as required in senior meetings, workshops etc.

• Liaise with business/functional experts to; discuss and document their requirements, ascertain their delivery progress for subsequent reporting, participate in meetings and working groups.

• Build strong stakeholder relationships across the Enterprise Data Mesh program’s delivery Pods, internal and vendor partners, and adjacent programs; establish effective communication channels to ensure that dependencies are managed and needs are met expeditiously and sufficiently.

• Quickly integrate into a strong problem solving culture, with a continuous improvement mindset.

Your team

You’ll be working in the GCTO Enterprise Data Mesh Services team, focusing on the development
of UBS’s Enterprise Data Mesh. The Enterprise Data Mesh Services (EDMS) team aims to improve the data producer and data consumer experience at UBS by developing capabilities built to empower teams to seamlessly discover, share, and analyze data, driving data-driven decision-making and innovation across the firm. Additionally, the team closely interacts with data owners and partners with divisions and functions Bank-wide, to develop innovative digital solutions and leverage our technical expertise to address their requirements. You will be joining EDMS at an exciting stage in its growth trajectory and you’ll play an important role in aiding the enhancement of EDMS’s technological footprint within the organization.

Your expertise

We’re looking for someone who has:

• proven experience (3 years+) in a PMO and/or Project Management role, preferably in a Banking, Financial Services, or Consultancy environment, working on IT/Technology focused projects. A formal PM qualification is preferred (Prince2, PMP, etc).

• agile Project Management and/or Scrum Master experience - planning and hosting sprint ceremonies, backlog management, working in sprint cycles. A formal Agile qualification is preferred (CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP etc).

• proficiency with project management tools - GitLab and MS Teams/SharePoint (Mandatory), JIRA and/or Blueprint (Desirable).

• proficiency with Microsoft’s Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio).

• basic coding skills to aid GitLab and other project related work e.g. Python, C#, Typescript, Ruby etc. (Desirable).

• strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills (regular interaction with Program/Project Leads and UBS Heads of Business/Functions is required).

• the ability to take responsibility and stay focused on objectives, with a can-do-attitude.

• organized, able to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a demanding environment.
