Your Role:

Are you a seasoned Engineering Manager with a knack for leading diverse teams and navigating complex stakeholder environments? Do you thrive in building and managing large-scale, API-driven systems with a distributed team? If so, then this role is for you!

We are seeking a collaborative and experienced leader to guide our talented engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining a critical, scalable SaaS product built on APIs. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a high-performing team, ensuring smooth project execution, and balancing the expectations of various stakeholders – from young engineers to seasoned peers and leaders across sales, operations, and customer service.

You will oversee both people and processes, guiding talented engineers towards high impact delivery. You will: Own the process, build the future

●      Lead and Manage Engineering Teams: You will own the team’s process, delivery, and execution ensuring they work optimally and with high quality.

●      Partner with Product managers and Customers: Collaborate to create your team’s roadmap, aligning on priorities that meet both business goals and customer needs. Collaborate with the product management team to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.

●      Provide Technical Guidance: While you may not code every day, you review PRs, architecture and design documents, provide technical coaching and feedback to ensure high quality solutions. You ensure the right decisions are made at the right time.

●      Drive Performance Management: You will be responsible for your team’s performance, identifying and addressing any issues proactively. Provide immediate and actionable feedback to support continuous improvement.

●      Mentor for Growth: Help engineers realize their full potential, fostering a growth mindset and creating personalized development plans.

●      Own and Optimize Engineering Processes: We believe in streamlining and improving processes. You’ll craft team goals and raise the technical bar across the company, promoting a culture of constant feedback and transparency.

●      Lead Hiring and Talent Development: Participate in all stages of hiring, onboarding, and retaining top talent, contributing to our team’s rapid growth.

We are looking for someone who has:

●      6+ years of software development experience in building products, out of which at least 2+ years in a similar engineering management role, overseeing software development projects and leading teams.

●      Proven experience in building and maintaining large-scale, distributed systems.

●      Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.

●      Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.

●      The ability to communicate results clearly in a verbal and written manner.

●      Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes), monitoring and observability tools.

●      Proven expertise in writing scalable and maintainable code in Python.

●      A strong focus on supporting and driving a culture around critical aspects of software engineering, especially performance, correctness and scalability.

●      Strong knowledge of agile software development methodologies, best practices, and industry standards.

●      Worked consistently in an environment focusing on the needs of users —both internal and external.

●      Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

●      Experience or good knowledge of the online food ordering space.

●      Experience in managing an engineering team.
