Role Description

Engineer - Design

Multiple

Responsible for preparing all design related drawings as required for execution of fresh and running projects

The Civil Draughtsman in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, layouts, and plans for civil engineering projects. These include structural, architectural, and infrastructure designs. The draughtsman works closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure accurate and efficient design execution.

Drafting & Design

 Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit).

 Prepare civil layout drawings, grading plans, and earthwork calculations.

 Design infrastructure components such as roads, drainage systems, and utilities.

 Generate reinforcement detailing and bar bending schedules (BBS).

Collaboration & Coordination

 Work with engineers to interpret and translate design concepts into accurate drawings.

 Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural) for integrated design solutions.

 Review and update drawings based on feedback or changes to design specifications.

Documentation

 Maintain a repository of all project drawings and design documents.

 Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

 Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.

Quality Assurance

 Conduct regular checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings.

 Adhere to project deadlines while maintaining quality and precision.

Site Support

 Provide technical support and clarification to construction teams based on the drawings.

 Visit project sites to ensure alignment of work with design intent, if required.

Measurable Deliverables

 3+ years of experience as a draughtsman in the Civil domain, preferably within EPC projects.

 Proficiency in drafting software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.).

 Knowledge of relevant civil engineering standards and codes (e.g., IS, BS, ACI).

 Familiarity with project workflows in EPC environments.

Diploma In Civil/ ITI

Technical Skills

 Proficiency in drafting software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.).

Experience levels required to execute this role

E.g. 3+ yrs of experience as a senior Engineer  in  infrastructure company

Specific Experience

 Strong understanding of civil and structural design principles.

 Ability to interpret technical specifications and blueprints.

 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Over all Experience

-        3 + years of overall design experience

 Basic knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) processes is a plus.
