Job Description:

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As the Director, Security Engineering and Operations, you will lead a global team responsible for the architecture, engineering, deployment, and operational lifecycle of Solventum’s core security technologies. In this role, you will:

  • Set the strategic direction for Security Engineering and Operations across Endpoint Security, Network Security, and Security Data & Automation, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk priorities, regulatory requirements, and business strategy.

  • Support and enable critical technologies leveraged by the SOC and CIRT, ensuring high‑quality telemetry, reliable data pipelines, platform resilience, and rapid engineering support for threat detection and incident response workflows.

  • Manage key service provider and vendor relationships, overseeing contract performance, driving service delivery excellence, and ensuring SLA adherence across managed security platforms and operational support services.

  • Lead multiple security engineering disciplines, guiding senior technical professionals responsible for EDR, DLP, ITP, CASB, host-based controls, firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS, SIEM, SOAR, and automation technologies.

  • Develop and manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and efficient security capabilities across the enterprise.

  • Drive continuous improvement and modernization, initiating and approving complex technology projects to enhance resiliency, telemetry quality, integration, and operational performance.

  • Solve complex, multi‑faceted security challenges, applying advanced analytical, architectural, and operational expertise to strengthen security outcomes and support business growth.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders across IT, Cloud, Infrastructure, Threat Detection, Identity, and Compliance to ensure cohesive, end‑to‑end security operations and technical alignment.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for a diverse team of leads, and senior engineers, fostering an inclusive, innovative, and high‑performance culture.

  • Represent Security Engineering and Operations in governance forums, architectural reviews, vendor engagements, and executive‑level discussions.
     

Your skills & expertise (Minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Cybersecurity Engineering or Security Operations.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams or multiple security engineering functions.

  • Demonstrated experience operating enterprise‑scale security technologies (e.g., EDR, DLP, SIEM, SOAR, WAF, firewalls, IDS/IPS).

  • Strong knowledge of modern security architecture principles, including identity-centric security, network segmentation, data protection, and cloud security controls.

  • Experience developing and managing budgets, staffing plans, and operational strategies.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse business and technical stakeholders.
     

Additional qualifications (Nice to have):

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT Management, or related field.

  • Experience leading security engineering in highly regulated industries.

  • Advanced knowledge of cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience deploying or operating platforms such as CrowdStrike, Fortra, modern SIEM/SOAR technologies, or CASB platforms.

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CCSP, or relevant vendor certifications.

  • Proven experience driving automation and improving operational maturity in security engineering contexts.
     

Work location:

  • India

Travel: Up to 10% travel required
