Director of Engineering

We are seeking a Director Data Engineering to lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable data platforms that enable advanced analytics, AI, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

This role will drive data platform strategy, architecture, and execution, managing large-scale data pipelines, modern data platforms, and high-performing engineering teams. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and business understanding to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Platform Strategy

• Define and implement the enterprise data engineering strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Drive the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance data platforms.
• Lead the modernization of legacy systems to cloud-based data architectures.

Architecture & Engineering

• Design and oversee large-scale data pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks, and real-time data processing systems.
• Implement modern data architectures such as Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Lakehouse.
• Ensure adoption of best practices in data engineering, scalability, security, and governance.

Leadership & Team Management

• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing data engineering teams.
• Establish strong engineering culture, coding standards, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, product teams, and business leaders.

Data Governance & Quality

• Implement frameworks for data quality, data lineage, data governance, and compliance.
• Ensure data platforms meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Management

• Work with senior leadership to identify opportunities for data-driven innovation.
• Partner with business teams to translate data needs into scalable technical solutions.

Delivery & Operations

• Drive agile delivery of data products and platforms.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data systems.
• Manage vendor partnerships, budgets, and technology investments.

Required Qualifications

• 1417 years of experience in Data Engineering, Big Data, or Data Platform Engineering.
• Proven experience leading large data engineering teams and complex data initiatives.
• Strong expertise in modern data architectures and distributed data systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms GCP
• Expertise in data pipeline technologies and frameworks.
